Location
Looking for a home-from-home stay for your pug (and their furry BFFs)? You’ve just found it!
We only ever host one household at a time – so whether it’s just your pup or the whole doggy gang (max 3 dogs), they’ll have the place all to themselves. No mixing of other dogs from other households, no stress, just pure tail-wagging comfort.
Your dog will be treated like one of our own (spoiled, obviously), and we’ll follow your routine as closely as possible – walkies, mealtimes, cuddles…you name it they’ll get it!
With a combined 18 years of pug parenting under our belt, we know how charmingly demanding these little snort machines can be and we’re 100% ready for it!
Pugtastic location
At the bottom of our street you’ll find the beautiful Haltwhistle Burn with other close by riverside walks. Nearby is Hadrian’s Wall and we are also close to Bellister Castle.
We are just 15–20 minutes from Hexham. Also nearby are Alston, Brampton, Bardon Mill and Corbridge. We are only about 35–40 minutes outside of Newcastle.
We also often head down to the lovely North East coastline, including Tynemouth and Whitley Bay.
There are plenty of walks and routes that feel almost never-ending, making the area perfect for both slower dogs who just want a short sniffy stroll and more energetic dogs who are happy to walk for miles.
Whether your pup prefers a gentle stroll or a full-on sniffari, we’ve got the perfect walk right on our doorstep!
A cosy, character-filled home for your Pug to relax in
We live in a lovely stone built 4-bedroom Victorian terrace, built in the 1890’s, full of original charm and rustic character we’ve lovingly preserved over the years. With a spacious living room and kitchen diner, a cosy main bathroom and loft room at the top if your pugs legs can carry them (or we can!) – there’s plenty of space for snoozing, playing and pug-style lounging!
Our home is fully secure, with a fenced and gated front garden with a grass area and a gorgeous little sun-trap “yarden” out back. It’s surrounded by a 7-foot-high wall, offering ultimate privacy and safety – a true hidden gem.
A great spot in the summertime…their own sunny little haven. We’re sure your pug will fall in love with it too!
Cuddles, comfort & care – tailored to your Pug’s personality
Our beloved Meg was the most picked-up pug you could imagine -glued to us 24/7 and happiest in our arms. When we lost her, it genuinely felt like we’d lost a limb…that’s how deeply attached we were. So if your pug is a cuddle monster who needs constant snuggles and reassurance – we completely get it and we’re here for them with open arms (and warm laps).
But if they’re more independent like our Penny pug used to be, we totally respect that too! We’ll always let them enjoy their space, peace and personal bubble and when they decide they want snuggle time we will be more than happy to have them cosy up.
Before your pug’s stay, we’ll go through a few simple questions with you about their health, routine and personality – just to make sure we’re fully up to date and can give them exactly what they need.
We’re happy to take your pup on short strolls or long adventures, depending on their energy levels. And for our fabulous senior pugs or those with mobility issues (or let’s be honest – those that are just plain lazy), we have a comfy dog buggy ready to roll. That way, everyone gets fresh air and fun!
What we ask you to bring
To help your pug feel right at home, we kindly ask you to pack all their home comforts, including:
- Their own bowls, food and treats
- Any favourite toys or dog beds or blankets they love to snuggle with
- Their harnesses, leads or coats and any medication they need
- Got your own buggy? Bring it along – no problem!
Basically, anything that helps your pup feel safe, settled and spoiled – we want them to have it! We know how important their home comforts are and we’ll make sure nothing gets missed.
